Bridge of Hope @ EUMA

Supporting EUMA’s mission to end homelessness by engaging Christian faith communities through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ's love to families experiencing homelessness.

Bridge of Hope at EUMA was launched in Winter of 2022.

Bridge of Hope @ EUMA is a Christian faith-based solution that builds a three-way partnership between families who are facing homelessness, church based Neighboring Volunteers, and professional staff specialized in providing housing resources.  This 18 to 24-month program model is meant to move beyond the short term solutions and create opportunities necessary for long-term change.

Jesus calls us to neighboring. At Bridge of Hope @ EUMA were are answering that call by being a neighbor to families in our community experiencing active homelessness who have exhausted or lack the social bonds necessary to begin healing and rebuilding from their immediate circumstances.

What is a Bridge of Hope Neighborhood?

The Neighborhood of Support includes families facing homelessness, a group of 6-10 volunteers from a Christian faith community, and a Bridge of Hope Case Manager.

Who makes up a group of Neighboring Volunteers?

Anyone can be a Neighboring Volunteer: women or men, young or old, married or single.

What is the time commitment for a Neighboring Volunteer?

Neighboring Volunteers participate in 6 hours of initial training as well as regular gatherings with the family and case manager.

How are Neighboring Volunteers supported?

Along with the Strangers to Neighbors with Bridge of Hope, the Neighborhood Resource Specialist’s (NRS) role is to support the ongoing relationship between the Neighboring Volunteers and Families in the program.  This support can be facilitated through in person meetings, phone or emails.
