EUMA’s Our Neighbors’ Place Seasonal Shelter recently ended its 7th season of ensuring everyone has a warm, safe place to sleep during Erie’s winter season.
A project of the faith community, the overflow shelter operates on a rotating basis among several downtown Erie churches every two weeks during the winter season. Guests are provided two simple meals, the opportunity to shower, a place to sleep, chaplain services and are introduced to available homeless services.
Hundreds of volunteers from at least 50 different churches and community organizations provided staffing, food and care to 342 homeless men and women who had nowhere else to go. For more details, view the ONP infographic below.
This vital program is only possible through the efforts of our many dedicated volunteers. Thanks to all who supported and volunteered during the 2018-19 shelter season!
