EUMA's supporters showed their commitment toward ending homelessness for families with children with their generous Erie Gives donations.
In just 12 hours of giving on Tuesday, Aug. 8 - 262 donors gave a whopping $44,234 to end homelessness for families at EUMA's The Refuge.
Out of the 376 nonprofits eligible for donations, EUMA ranked 21st in donation amount and 9th in number of donors.
For this year's Erie Gives, EUMA focused on channeling proceeds to The Refuge, EUMA's emergency shelter for homeless families with children. With recent changes in HUD funding, The Refuge will operate primarily on private donations.
"Our donors are amazing," said Kurt Crays, EUMA Executive Director. "This year's Erie Gives was particularly crucial due to recent funding changes and our donors answered the call! We are stunned and so thankful for each donation made through Erie Gives."
This year's total was a new record for EUMA. Last year, we received $29,917 from 162 donors.
